Welcome to "early term." Birth from here on is no longer considered preterm — most births at 37 weeks are healthy.

The week feels strange: the boat is calm, the star is hanging there, and inside you are checking your phone every fifteen minutes. Both are real at once. The cervix may be starting to dilate or efface; some providers will check it at appointments, some won't. Discharge increases. Pre-labor diarrhea is a thing (sorry). The phone lives charged. The bag lives in the car.

✦ Send a "go time" message draft to whoever needs to know. You don't want to be writing texts in active labor.
✦ Confirm visitor rules with the hospital and with each other. The first 48 hours are yours — protect them.
✦ Stock the pantry. Postpartum is not the moment for a grocery run.
