End of the first trimester.

The hardest part of the first three months — the nausea, the secret-keeping, the constant low-grade fear — is mostly behind you. The bump is starting to feel real to other people, not just to you. The next trimester is famously the easiest.

✦ Get a pregnancy pillow if sleep is getting weird. Side-sleeping is the standard recommendation in T3 (around 28 weeks on); for now, sleep how you can and don't lose sleep over which side.
✦ Buy clothes that actually fit. Maternity clothes aren't required yet, but stretchy waists save your sanity.
✦ If you've been holding your breath for twelve weeks, exhale a little. You'll still have hard weeks. But the hardest of the first three are behind you.
